We even had them push the fireworks up one day for your birthday.
You've earned a birthday nap, Shel. 5, 6 eggs, potatoes, French toast...
Yep, that's Linda serving coffee. Rule #1 at Franks: You can grab the pot and serve yourself coffee, but if you do, be prepared to serve the entire restaurant.
Nothing could be finer. Back to Franks Diner in Kenosha for Shel's birthday breakfast. For the breakfast, no really.
..and this one of Shel with the Hancock building just slightly visible behind him.
On Wednesday, we had an awesome time viewing the city from the top of a tour bus. Actually, a number of tour buses, since we had hop off/hop on privileges all day. Apparently, we had so much fun that photoboy forgot to take pictures all day, except for these two of Shel at the "Taste of Chicago" doing a sausage taste-test: Italian vs. Polish.
Tour guide is beat. On the 151 bus back to the condo.
They are totally just posing for this picture.
Today we got a private tour of Chicago architecture from our own personal tour guide. First stop: The little toy city at the Architecture Foundation on Michigan Avenue. I love this thing. It's actually more fun than the real city.
After 20 years we finally got Shel to leave California and come to Chicago to visit. We will be making every effort to update this blog on a daily basis to document our misadventures. Check back often.
