Day 20: Touristas

..and this one of Shel with the Hancock building just slightly visible behind him.

On Wednesday, we had an awesome time viewing the city from the top of a tour bus. Actually, a number of tour buses, since we had hop off/hop on privileges all day. Apparently, we had so much fun that photoboy forgot to take pictures all day, except for these two of Shel at the "Taste of Chicago" doing a sausage taste-test: Italian vs. Polish.

Day 19: Back Downtown

Tour guide is beat. On the 151 bus back to the condo.

They are totally just posing for this picture.

Today we got a private tour of Chicago architecture from our own personal tour guide. First stop: The little toy city at the Architecture Foundation on Michigan Avenue. I love this thing. It's actually more fun than the real city.

Day 18: Yep, More Trains

That night we were off to Ravinia for the opening of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra season. We very much enjoyed being at an event where we were the youngest people there.

On Monday we may or may not have visited a massive un-named train yard southwest of Chicago where we may or may not have recieved a tour from the yard manager who may or may not have been this blogger's cousin. Photography may or may not have been allowed.

Day 16: Illinois Railway Museum

Enough trains yet? Never! Dinner at Trax, overlooking the Deerfield train station.

Can you hear me, now?

I'm king of the world!

Forget it, Shell. That ad is from 1952.

On Saturday we took a ride out to the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL. On the left is Linda's friend Nick Kallas who just happens to be the Director and CEO of the Museum. The girl is connected!

Day 14: How Much Can You Do in the City in One Day?

And as the sun sinks slowly in the west...

Please can we sit just for a minute?

Can't be done. Manny, Moe and Jack split the pie.

Shel does his best to ruin a Gino's East pizza by putting anchovies on it.

What is it about Linda's hat that Shel finds so interesting?

Could Linda BE any happier to be on a boat in the Chicago River?

My kinda town.

Picasso

What chu talkin' about!? 103 stories up in the Willis Tower.

I told you: Don't look down.

We're going up WHERE?

Curley, Moe and Larry take the train to the big city.
